Deaths

Jeanne Synon Folts, 91, of Savoy, Illinois, died Dec. 30. She worked as an administrative assistant for the university’s Athletic Association Varsity I Office until her retirement in 1993. She also held several other part-time positions at the university. Memorials: American Heart Association, Alzheimer’s Association and Holy Cross Catholic Church.

Marjory A. Hudson, 90, of Champaign, died Dec. 19 at Carriage Crossing in Champaign. She was a clerk in the university’s departments of psychology, speech and hearing science and material research.

David Bruce Langendorf, 64, of Champaign, died Dec. 24. He retired from the University of Illinois Police Department after more than 20 years of service. Memorials: Semper Fi Fund or Meadowbrook Community Church.

David B. “Dave” Lawrence, 80, of Savoy, Illinois, died Jan. 1 at Presence Covenant Medical Center in Urbana. He was an advisory board member for the university’s Volunteer Illini Projects and a visiting lecturer in the department of leisure studies, in what is now part of the College of Applied Health Studies. He also worked for WILL-TV in the College of Media. A visitation will be held at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 1303 Lincolnshire Drive in Champaign, on Saturday, Jan. 6, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in Feeney Hall. A rosary will follow the visitation at the church beginning at 10:30 a.m., with a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Memorials: Don Moyer Boys and Girls Club, the United Way of Champaign County, St. Matthew Catholic Parish, Champaign County Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children or the Salvation Army in Champaign County.

Eva Claire Rosenfield, 97, of Urbana, died Dec. 31 at the Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Urbana. She worked for the university as the administrative secretary for the Office of Business Affairs. A memorial celebration and gathering is being planned for the spring at Sinai Temple Synagogue, 3104 W. Windsor Road, Champaign. Memorials: Sinai Temple Synagogue.
