Deaths

Rosalee June Cobb, 90, of Broadlands, Illinois, died Jan. 9 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She worked at the university’s Small Animal Clinic for several years. Memorials: American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.

Margie “Pud” Eastin, 92, of Urbana, died Jan. 12. She worked as an administrative assistant in the university’s department of geological survey, retiring in 1976.

Belva M. Edwards, 95, of Champaign, died Jan. 14 at Helia Healthcare Center in Champaign. She worked in the university’s department of electrical and computer engineering for 26 years, retiring in 1990. Memorials: Champaign County Humane Society.

Joe B. Vermillion Jr., 84, of Philo, Illinois, died Jan. 14 at the Champaign County Nursing Home. He worked for more than 30 years at the Physical Plant at the university. Memorials: St. Thomas Church or St. Thomas Grade School.
