Deaths

Robert J. Cheek, 93, of Normal, Illinois, died Jan. 25 at the Gibson Community Hospital Annex in Gibson City, Illinois. He retired from the university’s purchasing department. Memorials: Arthritis Foundation or American Heart Association.

Alfred Wilhelm Hubler, 62, of Urbana, died Jan. 27 in Urbana. He was a professor of physics at the university. Memorials: Campus Middle School for Girls.

Kenneth Earl Raymond, 78, of Urbana, died Jan. 23 at Presence Covenant Medical Center in Urbana. He was a foreman in refrigeration at the university, retiring after 20 years of service. A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 3 at the Lodge Church of God, 2168 Church St., Lodge, Illinois.
