Deaths

Ray Boehmer, 71, of Urbana, died April 19. He taught at the university. Memorials: Illinois Audubon Society; Planned Parenthood of Illinois, 302 E. Stoughton, Suite 2, Champaign, IL 61820; or to the Ray Boehmer Memorial Award for Excellence in Science Education, Millikin University, 1184 W. Main St., Decatur, IL 62522.

Lawrence “Larry” Mervin Bowden, 83, of Champaign, died April 23 at his home. He began working for the university in 1966, retiring as the director of mail services in 1997. Memorials: Hospice Hearts, P.O. Box 91, Thomasboro, IL 61878 or to Carle Home Health Services.

Leo J. Clennon, 96, of Philo, Illinois, died April 28 at Arbors Senior Living, Springfield, Illinois. He retired from the university’s Housing Division as a building operator in Florida Avenue Residence Halls. He was the university’s Nonacademic Employee of the Year in 1986. Memorials may be made toDominican Sisters, St. Thomas Churchor Honor Flight.

Dale F. “Marty” Eichelberger, 85, of Fisher, Illinois, died April 29 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. He spent his career working in the Housing Division at the university, retiring in 1988. Memorials: East Bend Mennonite Churchor Gibson City Annex.

Robert “Bob” Allan Moff, 74, of Thomasboro, Illinois, died April 24. He was a fire instructor at the university. Memorials: Urbana VFW Post 630, 1303 E. Main St., Urbana, IL 61802.

Christie Tucker, 67, of Mattoon, Illinois, formerly of Sidney, Illinois, died April 29 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital near Mattoon. She retired from the university. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 4, at Sidney United Church, with the Rev. Mike Picklesimer officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials: Sidney United Church.

Dan Weisman, 62, of Sidney, Illinois, died April 27. He retired from the university after serving for 32 years.
