Deaths

Charles “Chuck” Richard Kibler, 66, of Fisher, Illinois, died Oct. 10 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He spent the last 25 years working at the university, first as a network analyst for the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences and then as a systems engineer for the University Library. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at River Valley Church of Christ, 17 Owlcreek Lane, Fisher. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the church. Memorials: River Valley Church of Christ.

Jennifer Joy Loy, 59, of Urbana, died Oct. 7 at her home. She was a chef at the university for many years. A formal memorial service will be held in November. Memorials: Curtis Road Church of God.

Yoko Muroga (Nakamura), 86, of Urbana, died Sept. 30 in El Cerrito, California. She assisted her husband, Saburo Muroga, in his research for the College of Engineering and taught Japanese calligraphy at Japan House at Illinois. A Buddhist memorial is being planned for her family in Japan. Memorials: Yoko Muroga Memorial Fund, Krannert Art Museum, 500 E. Peabody Drive, Champaign, IL 61820.

Pauline Rymer, 99, of Champaign, died Oct. 13 at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center in Urbana. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Champaign. She was a library clerk at the university, where she worked for 17 years. Memorials: Disabled American Veterans.

James Wilburn “Jim” Seets, 77, of Mansfield, Illinois, died Oct. 6 at LeRoy Manor in LeRoy, Illinois. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Reed Funeral Chapel, Harrisburg, Illinois. He began working in the Natural History Survey’s wildlife research department in 1969, retiring in 2000. Memorials: Dutton Chapel Cemetery Fund.
