Deaths

Lila Mae Adams, 73, died May 23 at Heartland Nursing Home, Champaign. She was a cook for University Housing from 1965-67.

Nadine Cook, 97, died May 27 at Heritage Health in Gibson City, Illinois. She worked at the U. of I. for 22 years, retiring in 1980 as a clerk I for University Housing. Vincent O. Greene, 92, died May 28 at Canterbury Ridge, Urbana. He was an accountant at the U. of I. for 30 years. He started in 1952 with the Auditing Division and retired in 1982 from the Office of Budgeting and Planning. Memorials: U. of I. Foundation for the Vincent O. Janice Marilyn Miller Hartman, 78, died May 26. She taught, administered the undergraduate program and was an assistant and associate dean for the School of Social Work for many years. Roy Allen Haycraft, 66, died Jan. 24 at Centennial Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee. He was a building service worker for Facilities and Services for 25 years, retiring in 2004. 

Scottie Whitt, 68, died May 20 at his home in Monticello, Illinois. Whitt worked at the U. of I. for 33 years, retiring in 1998 as the lead engineer at the Abbott Power Plant. Memorials: Homer Youth League, www.homeryouthleaugue.org.

MEMORIAL SERVICE

Memorial services for Mary Margaret Jones will be at 11 a.m. June 6 at Morgan Memorial Home, 1304 Regency Drive West, Savoy. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. before the service. Jones, 70, died May 25 at Presence Covenant Medical Center, Urbana. She worked for University Housing for 33 years, retiring in 1999 as a chief clerk.
