Deaths

James W. Coleman, 95, died July 1. He worked at the U. of I. for nearly 16 years, retiring as an analyst III for Administrative Information Systems and Services. Memorials: Jim and Nancy Coleman Scholarship, c/o Bay College Foundation, 2001 N. Lincoln Road, Escanaba, MI 49829.

Ruby Danison, 94, died June 30 at the Heartland Health Care Center, Champaign. She worked at the College of Veterinary Medicine’s Small Animal Clinic for seven years, retiring in 1983 as a building service worker. Memorials: Cisco United Methodist Church, 145 Eldon St., Cisco, IL 61830.

Louie “Dick” Foley, 88, died June 27. He was an instrument maker for the department of electrical engineering for 35 years, retiring in 1986.

Sally Gamboa, 93, died July 2 at her home in the Foothills Retirement Community in Easley, South Carolina. She worked at the U. of I. for 32 years, retiring in 1986 as an administrative secretary for the University Office of Development. Russell Hugh Green, 86, died July 9 at the Champaign County Nursing Home, Urbana. Green was a U. of I. police officer for several years. Memorials: Presence Hospice, 1501 Interstate Drive, Champaign, IL 61821, 217-353-3400; or any food pantry.

Robert L. Hartman, 91, died June 28. He worked at the U. of I. for 20 years, retiring in 1986 as a personnel officer V for the Personnel Services Office. Memorials: First Baptist Church at Savoy, www.fbc-cs.org; or Kiwanis International Foundation, www.kiwanis.org/foundation.

Moreland Herrin, 92, died July 6 at Clark Lindsey Village’s Meadowbrook Nursing Home. He was a professor of civil and environmental engineering at the U. of I. for 29 years, retiring in 1987 as professor emeritus. Ingrid F. Lange, 86, died June 28 at Presence Covenant Medical Center, Urbana. She was a secretary at the U. of I. for 20 years, retiring in 1990 as a clerk II for the Personnel Services Office. Annette G. Uden, 89, died June 29 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. She worked at the U. of I. for 25 years, retiring in 1992 as a dining room hostess for University Housing.
