Deaths

Marlene Chandler, 75, died Nov. 1 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. She was a typing clerk in the Bursar’s Office from 1958-64. Memorials: Allerton United Methodist Church, 103 Elm, Allerton, IL 61810; Carle Hospice or the American Cancer Society.

Gene Paul Gladney, 76, died Oct. 26 at Presence Covenant Medical Center, Urbana. He was a police officer for 23 years, retiring in 1994. He came back as extra help for the Division of Operation and Maintenance (now Facilities and Services) from 1994 to 1996.

Stuart Mies Mamer, 94, died Oct. 26. He was a lecturer for the College of Law for 20 years, retiring in 1985. Memorials: Krannert Center for the Performing Arts.
