Deaths

Guenther Lueschen, 85, died Nov. 15 in Hannover, Germany. He was a professor of kinesiology and of sociology for 24 years, retiring in 1990. He returned to the U. of I. and received emeritus status in 2007. Memorials: “APD-Hospiz Luise” – deposit into International Bank Account Number DE44 2512 0510 00/01 4527 06, Vermerk (reference Professor Lueschen).

Wilma A. Barnhart, 83, died Nov. 25 at her Champaign home. She worked as a clerk stenographer for several different units during her 36-year career at the university, which ended in 1989 – including electrical engineering and stenographic services. Memorials: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or to Native American Ministries

Jacques B. Evans, 95, died Nov. 23 at his Arizona home. He was the manager of the U. of I. Golf Course. Memorials: Wounded Warrior Project.

Clarence Herbert Alley, 73, died Nov. 26. He worked at the U. of I. for 20 years, retiring in 2003 as the director of payables for Payroll Services. Memorials: St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 1501 E. Grove Ave, Rantoul, IL 61866.
