John Carl “Junior” Opolka, 87, died Dec. 11 at Champaign-Urbana Nursing and Rehabilitation, Savoy. He worked at the U. of I. for 39 years, starting as an assistant plate-maker in the print shop and retired in 1988 as the superintendent of Printing Services.
