Deaths

Louis H. “Bud” Mesker, 81, of Urbana, died April 12 at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center in Urbana. He was a firefighter with the university’s Fire Department for 28 years, until his retirement as acting fire chief. Visitation will be Friday, April 26, from noon to 2 p.m. at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Road, Urbana. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation. Memorials: Greater Champaign County Chapter of Ambucs, P.O. Box 592, Urbana, IL 61803.

Darcy Elizabeth Strack, 50, of Urbana, died April 22 in Urbana. She was an event manager at the Illini Union at the university. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 29, at Tuscola Township Cemetery, with the Rev. Les Evans officiating. No visitation will be held.
