Deaths

Robert G. “Bob” Carlier, 88, of Champaign, died Sept. 8 at Presence Covenant Medical Center, Urbana. He was a teacher, coach and administrator at the University of Illinois Laboratory High School under the College of Education from 1955-69.

Melvin Thomas “Tom” Davisson, 84, of Clark-Lindsey Village, Urbana, died Sept. 9 at Presence Covenant Medical Center, Urbana. He began his civil engineering career at the university as a research assistant in 1956 and moved through the academic ranks to a full professorship in 1971. Memorials: the Peter Feuille Scholarship at the School of Labor and Employment Relations or the Emmanuel Memorial Episcopal Church, 208 W. University Ave., Champaign, IL 61820.

Danny A. Goad, 69, of Homer, Illinois, died Sept. 9 at Presence Covenant Medical Center, Urbana. He retired from the university in 2002.

Leonard Heumann, 75, of Champaign, died Sept. 13 at his home. He was a professor of urban and regional planning at the university for more than 30 years.
