Deaths

John B. Claar, of Vero Beach, Florida, died Oct. 5 at Indian River Medical Center. He served as the director of the Cooperative Extension Service, the interim dean of the College of Agriculture and the associate vice president for Public Service. He also served as the director of Interpaks, an international program. Memorials: Exchange Club of Vero Beach Scholarship Foundation Trust, P.O. Box 1982, Vero Beach, FL 32961.

Eileene E. Foil, 96, of Champaign, died Oct. 15 at Heartland Healthcare Center, Champaign. She retired from the university as a secretary for the Graduate College. Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at Morgan Memorial Home, 1304 Regency Drive West, Savoy, Illinois.

Willie V. Johnson, 82, of Champaign, died Oct. 14 at Presence Covenant Medical Center, Urbana. She worked for the university. Funeral services will be at noon Friday, Oct. 21, at Walker Funeral Service, 704 N. Fourth St., Champaign, with visitation one hour before the service.

Joseph Rotman, 82, of Champaign, died Oct. 16 at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Center, Urbana. He was a professor of mathematics from 1959 to 2004. Memorials: Sinai Temple, 3104 Windsor Road, Champaign, IL 61822.
