Center for Advanced Study seeks research project proposals

The Center for Advanced Study invites U. of I. faculty members to submit scholarly and creative proposals for consideration for its research appointments program.

Faculty with winning proposals are appointed as Center for Advanced Study associates and fellows and are awarded one semester of release time to pursue their projects in the coming academic year. The appointments offer the opportunity for faculty members to pursue the highest level of scholarly achievement, explore new ideas and demonstrate early results. Center for Advanced Study associates and fellows, along with the center’s permanent professors, participate in a yearly roundtable discussion of research interests and have opportunities to present their work.

The deadline for proposals for the 2018-19 academic year is Oct. 3. Program guidelines and application materials are available at www.cas.illinois.edu. For more information, email Masumi Iriye at iriye@illinois.edu or call 333-6729.
