Illinois faculty member elected to National Academy of Engineering
University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign professor Christopher Burcham has been elected to the National Academy of Engineering this year. Burcham, a professor of the practice in the department of chemical and biomolecular engineering, joined the university last fall.
Balut awarded prestigious Churchill Scholarship
David Balut, a senior majoring in physics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, is among 16 students nationwide to receive a Churchill Scholarship for study at Cambridge University in England.

Bialeschki named Office Professional of the Year 2025
Cathy Bialeschki was selected as the Office Professional of the Year 2025 by the Illinois Administrative Professionals organization at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Bialeschki is an administrative aide with the Illinois Natural History Survey, a unit at the Prairie Research Institute.
