Building support Louanner Peters, Illinois deputy governor, visited Lincoln Hall on Sept. 25 to drum up support for “Illinois Works,” a $25.4 billion capital spending bill that was passed by the Illinois Senate and was headed for the Illinois House of Representatives. Funded by new revenue from casinos, the program would give the UI $6.2 million for capital projects at the Urbana campus and would fund infrastructure improvements, education and other initiatives across the state.
