Brandon Seabrook String Trio to perform at Music Building Auditorium

The Brandon Seabrook String Trio will hold an improvisation workshop at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, with a performance following at 7:30 p.m., in the Music Building Auditorium, 1114 W. Nevada St., Urbana. The event is part of the Improvisers Exchange, a two-year initiative investigating the field of music improvisation. Both events are free and open to the public.

The trio features Brandon Seabrook on guitar, Henry Fraser on bass and Daniel Levin on cello. Together, the string trio tackles Seabrook’s thorny compositions featured on “Convulsionaries,” the trio’s debut release.

The Improvisers Exchange initiative is presenting this program in collaboration with the Illinois Student Association of Music Scholars 2018 Symposium, Sounding Community and Communities of Sound. This program is co-sponsored by the Center for Advanced Study, Division of Musicology, Illinois Student Association of Music Scholars, Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, Robert E. Brown Center for World Music and the School of Music at Illinois.
