CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — News media interested in covering the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign’s fundraising campaign inaugural event at the State Farm Center, 1800 S. First St., Champaign, are invited to report Friday, Oct. 13, to the media platform, which will be located on the west side of the arena on the 100 level at center court. A mult box will be available at the platform, but connections are limited and will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
The media platform will be available beginning at 6:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. event.
The highly stylized theatrical production will incorporate live performance, video, storytelling and inspiring speakers to spotlight distinguished faculty and students, extraordinary alumni and major benefactors.
The monetary goal of the campaign, titled “With Illinois,” will be revealed at the inaugural event.
The most recent campaign, which included all campuses in the University of Illinois System, concluded in 2012.
