Diana Yates

Yates earned a bachelor’s degree in biology at the City University of New York. She spent four years as a science and environmental reporter for the Staten Island Advance, and has freelanced for Wildlife Conservation Magazine and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

She spent four seasons as a research assistant on a study of wading birds in New York harbor, and coordinated communications for a New York City-based AIDS organization and for the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District.
