Omega Tau Sigma, the professional veterinary fraternity, will host the 5K Road Race for Animals on Oct 25. Participants may run or walk, with or without a dog.
Registration is 7:30-8:30 a.m. Oct. 25 , and the race starts at 9 a.m. It will begin at the College of Veterinary Medicine parking lot, 2001 S. Lincoln Ave., Urbana.
Registration is $22 in advance and $25 on the day of the race. All proceeds benefit A Pet’s Place, a student-run organization that cares for the pets of women staying in local domestic abuse shelters, and the U. of I. Wildlife Medical Clinic, a nonprofit clinic run by veterinary students that cares for ill, injured or orphaned wildlife.
