WILL-FM (90.9) is collecting used records and CDs for the fourth annual "Vintage Vinyl" used-record sale June 8 at Lincoln Square Mall, Urbana. Last year's sale of more than 20,000 records - including classical, jazz, pop, religious, gospel, blues, rock 'n' roll and show tunes - raised more than $16,000 for the station. According to station manager Dan Simeone, "Vintage Vinyl has become a very popular community event, drawing the largest attendance of any event in the mall. People start calling us in January to find out where they can drop off records. Thanks to many businesses throughout our listening area, we can direct people to convenient drop-off sites." In Champaign and Urbana, the drop-off sites are Pages for All Ages Bookstore, Schnuck's, Old Main Book Shoppe, Prairie Gardens, A Likely Story, and three Busey Bank locations. For a list of additional drop-off sites in East Central Illinois, call the radio station at 333-0850. All proceeds from the sale will benefit WILL's 1996-97 operating budget. Since WILL began fund-raising in 1974, the station has applied the money raised in one year to the next year's operating budget.
