The UI Office of Continuing Education and Public Service will sponsor two satellite seminars on how organizations can learn to change and successfully meet the challenges of today's working environment. "Inside the Learning Organization: Pathways and Processes" will be broadcast from 1 to 4:30 p.m. April 23 at several locations on campus. Originating from Great Neck, N.Y., the seminar will be led by organizational specialists Peter Senge, author of "The Fifth Discipline: The Art and Practice of the Learning Organization," and Charlotte Roberts, author of "The Fifth Discipline Fieldbook." The seminar will outline the tools, techniques and processes needed to sustain a learning organization. "Managing and Implementing Change" will be broadcast at several campus locations from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. May 9. Also originating from Great Neck, N.Y., the seminar will be led by management specialist Eli Goldratt, author of "The Goal." Goldratt will present a framework to help organizations set goals for change and overcome resistance to change. The seminars are aimed at members of educational, governmental, health and business organizations that are dealing with or contemplating change in their own operations. Detailed information about seminar locations will be provided to participants upon registration. The registration fee is $73 for both seminars, or $40 for one.
