Marianne A. Ferber, 90, died May 11. Ferber was an economics faculty member for 37 years, retiring in 1993 as professor emerita of economics and of women’s studies. She also was the director of Women’s Studies from 1980-83 and 1991-93. Memorials: Marianne A. Ferber Endowment, U. of I. Foundation.
 
James Edward Morenz, 67, died May 4 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. Morenz worked for Facilities and Services six years, retiring in 2011 as a driver for F&S waste management. Memorials: St. John Lutheran Church, of Champaign.

Hoyle B. Puckett Sr., 87, died May 9 at Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello. He was a professor emeritus of agricultural engineering. He was a faculty member in the department of agricultural and biological engineering for 30 years, retiring in 1985. A memorial service is planned for 2-4 p.m. July 13 at Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Betty E. Wagner, 85, died April 22 at Life Care Center in Port St. Lucie, Fla. She worked at the U. of I. for 35 years, retiring in 1988 as a chief clerk for business affairs accounting division. Memorials: Champaign County Humane Society.

Alison Fong Weingartner, 61, died April 27 at Carle Foundation Hospital. Weingartner had worked at the U. of I. for 14 years. Since 2011, she had been a communications specialist/editor for the Office of Online and Continuing Education.
