Benefit Choice period runs through May 31

Benefit Choice will take place May 1-31 this year. During this time, all benefit-eligible employees may make changes to their benefit plans and coverage levels. Benefit Choice changes may be made online with the self-service application NESSIE.

During Benefit Choice, the following changes may be made:

• Change health plans.
  
• Change dental plans.
  
• Add/drop dependents to/from your health and dental plans.
  
• Change your optional state life insurance.
  
• Change your accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
  
• Add/drop spouse or child life insurance coverage.
  
• Enroll or re-enroll in flexible spending accounts.
  
  

Most of these changes can be made online using NESSIE at http://nessie.uihr.uillinois.edu. NESSIE is available from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday. NESSIE is fast and convenient, and users receive an immediate e-mail confirmation that changes have been made.
