2001 Honors: College of Medicine

Raymond B. Allen Instructorship Award
Each year, a faculty member is selected by each class of medical students to be honored for distinguished teaching. Named for the college’s former dean, the awards also are known as the Golden Apple Awards. This year’s recipients and the class that honored each: Sari Gilman Aronson, clinical associate professor of psychiatry and internal medicine (fourth-year students); William Marshall, clinical professor of internal medicine and associate head of the Danville Veteran Affairs medical center (third-year students); Ivens A. Siegel, professor emeritus of pharmacology (second-year students); and Arash Farahvar, pre-doctoral fellow (first-year students).

Academic Professional Employee of the Year Award
Ron Brewer, associate director, Carle CEC and director, Tutorials, was honored as the Academic Professional of the Year. This award was established to honor an individual who has made significant contributions to the success of the college in the preceding year.

Staff Employee of the Year Award
Shirley Rademacher, secretary IV, Medical Scholars Program, was selected as the Staff Employee of the Year. This award was established to honor an individual who has made significant contributions to the success of the college in the preceding year.
